A SOCIAL MEDIA HOME RUN

The Anderson Monarchs Baseball Club, part of the Philadelphia Youth Organization, is a youth program primarily serving disadvantaged children in the city. The PYO's goal is to assist Philadelphia youth in applying and enrolling into good college institutions.

Monarchs' teams have developed the reputation as the finest clubs in the area, culminating with six city championships in recent years.

THE "SITCH"

The Anderson Monarchs were approaching the 2015 Civil Rights Barnstorming Tour sponsored by MLB, Chevrolet and Easton Baseball, followed by an ESPN videographer and a Sports Illustrated photographer.

The Barnstorming Tour had a goal of raising civil rights awareness from historical events to present day issues. The Monarchs needed an effective way to share its journey through social media.

OUR APPROACH

As part of our nonprofit outreach program, Argyle provided the social media management and content creation for the Barnstorming Tour. Respecting and enhancing the goal of the tour, Argyle researched and shared historical information pertaining to the history of the civil rights movement. The content integrated this information, educating and bringing awareness to the public. This assisted the Monarchs to gain national recognition from ESPN Sportscenter, NBC Nightly News, The New York Times and CNN.
